Observation

This short-term program offers observers the opportunity to shadow various healthcare professionals, providing real-world insight into daily responsibilities and work environments. The experience helps individuals evaluate whether a healthcare career aligns with their interests and skills, while potentially fulfilling observation requirements for educational or training programs.

Internship

This opportunity provides participants with hands-on exposure to healthcare careers, clinical practices, and essential skills in a professional setting. The program is designed to offer practical experience that supports career exploration and may fulfill school or educational requirements. Through guided work assignments and mentorship, participants gain valuable insight into the healthcare environment and its demands.

Career Discovery Sessions

Ready to explore a new career? Attend our Career Discovery Sessions to learn about a wide range of healthcare roles! Discover the qualifications, skills, and education needed for positions such as Patient Access Rep, Radiology Tech, Nurse, and more. Hear directly from experienced professionals about what it takes to succeed and find the path that’s right for you. Free to attend and open to anyone and everyone interested in healthcare careers or working at STHS, Career Discovery Sessions are offered regularly throughout the year.

Nurse Tech

STHS offers nurse tech positions for student nurses who have completed their first hospital-based clinical rotation. Nurse Techs gain additional exposure to direct and indirect patient care in various clinical settings and units in the health system. These jobs offer flexible hours and scheduling so students can focus on school while participating. The program provides comfort and confidence as students transition to real world nursing practice. This is an excellent first step in the STHS nursing career pathway.

Nurse Residency Program

Nurses are central to our daily successes at STHS, and that's why we prepare them from day one! Our nurse residency program is designed as a comprehensive transition-to-practice initiative for newly graduated nurses. This state-registered apprenticeship facilitates the smooth integration of novice nurses into clinical practice. Participants build confidence and competence while receiving targeted training, mentorship, and hands-on skill building.
